Have you lost something at Cologne Bonn Airport ? Find out how to report a lost item at the airport serving Germany’s fourth-largest city.

About Cologne Bonn Airport
Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN), officially named Konrad Adenauer Airport after Germany’s first post-war Chancellor, serves Cologne, Bonn, and the wider Rhine region of western Germany. Located approximately 14 kilometers southeast of Cologne city centre and 20 kilometers north of Bonn, the airport handles over 10 million passengers annually. It is a major base for Eurowings, Ryanair, and Wizz Air, alongside SunExpress, TUI, and various other carriers operating both scheduled and charter services.
CGN is one of the few airports in Germany that maintains 24-hour flight operations, primarily due to the presence of DHL’s major European air hub. This makes it an important cargo airport as well as a passenger facility. The passenger terminals are organised in two main sections, with Terminal 1 handling most traffic and Terminal 2 for overflow and charter operations. Cologne and the Rhineland attract business travellers, trade fair visitors, and tourists exploring the Cathedral city and surrounding wine region.
What Should You Do If You’ve Lost Something at Cologne Bonn Airport ?
If you notice the loss while still in the terminal, speak to airport staff or go to the information desk immediately. The airport is compact enough that staff can check key areas quickly.
Cologne Bonn’s lost property service operates seven days a week with standard daytime hours, making weekend reporting possible.
How to Report a Lost Item at Cologne Airport
Contact the airport lost property service during opening hours. The office is located in Terminal 2, section D. Provide the date and time, the terminal and gate area, your flight details, and a clear description of the item. You can also complete and send in the Lost Item Report Form on our platform so that our team can assist you in reporting your lost item(s).
Items Lost on an Aircraft
For items left on board a Eurowings, Ryanair, Wizz Air, or other flight, contact the airline’s customer service directly. Airlines manage on-board found property through their own systems, separately from the airport’s service.
Common loss locations at CGN include the security lanes, departure hall seating, the retail and food area in the departure zone, gate waiting areas, and the baggage claim carousels.
