About Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (IATA code : FLL) serves Fort Lauderdale, Florida, about 5 kilometres south of downtown, and works from four passenger terminals numbered 1 to 4, all linked by a free shuttle. It is a hub for Spirit Airlines and also carries JetBlue Airways, Southwest and many other carriers, with a strong flow of leisure travellers thanks to nearby Port Everglades.

The airport connects to the city by Broward County Transit buses and sits close to the Brightline rail station.

About to Board a Cruise ?

Fort Lauderdale is one of the busiest cruise gateways in the world, and a large share of arriving passengers step off a plane and head straight to Port Everglades to sail the same day. That creates a real time pressure : once a ship leaves, getting back to the airport for a forgotten item becomes very difficult. If you are cruising and realise something is missing, report it before you leave the airport and give the lost and found a way to reach you, whether that is an email you can check at sea or a contact who is staying ashore.

Reporting a Lost Item at Fort Lauderdale Airport

One thing to know before you set off : the lost and found office is not in the terminals themselves but on Level 2 of the Rental Car Center, a separate building reached by shuttle bus. Go there in person while you are at the airport, or open a report by phone or through our platform afterwards, naming the terminal you flew through and describing the item.

Address : Lost and Found Office, Level 2, Rental Car Center
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Opening hours : Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

If the item stayed on the aircraft, the airline handles it rather than the airport. Contact your carrier with the flight number and seat so the cabin can be checked.

You can also complete and send in the Lost Item Report Form on our platform so that our team can assist you in reporting your lost item(s).

Where Items Go Missing at FLL

  • Security screening lanes and the tray return in each of the four terminals
  • Gate seating and the airside cafes
  • The free inter-terminal shuttle, where bags change hands
  • Baggage claim carousels and nearby restrooms
  • The Rental Car Center, a shuttle ride from the terminals and home to the lost and found office

Collecting Your Item

Bring identification matching the report when you come to collect, or send someone with written authorisation and both sets of documents. If you have already sailed or flown on, ask the office whether the item can be held for your return or couriered to you.
