Procedure for Claiming Lost Items at Mactan–Cebu International Airport

When someone claims to be the rightful owner of a found item, the security office will :

1. Require the claimant to provide proper identification (any valid government-issued ID, passport, driver’s license), a detailed description of the lost item, the likely location of the loss, an approximate time of the loss, and where applicable, proof of ownership.
2. Verify the claim against the register of found items.
3. If satisfied that the claimant is the owner of a found item, release the item to them.
4. Have the claimant sign the Found Register to acknowledge receipt of the item.
5. Make a photocopy of the identification card presented.
6. Issue an acknowledgement receipt to the claimant.

If you are sending a representative to collect the item on your behalf, please provide the following in addition to the documents mentioned above:

• A letter of authorization from yourself (the owner), including a description of the item
• Photo identification of the representative (Passport, Driving License, other ID card)
