About the Doha Metro

The Doha Metro is Qatar’s rapid transit system, operated by Qatar Rail and opened in 2019. The network consists of three lines the Red Line (Gold), Green Line (Education), and Blue Line (Sport) covering major destinations across Doha including Hamad International Airport, the West Bay business district, Qatar University, and the stadium corridors. The metro was significantly expanded ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and now serves as the primary rapid transit option for residents, workers, and visitors in the Qatari capital.

The Doha Metro operates to a high standard, with air-conditioned carriages, gated stations, and dedicated female-only sections. The network connects to local bus services and the Lusail Light Rail Transit for onward travel. Qatar has a large expatriate population and attracts millions of visitors annually for business and leisure, meaning passengers come from a wide range of countries and backgrounds. Items left on the metro from phones and laptops to bags and travel documents are handled through Qatar Rail’s lost property service.

What Should You Do If You’ve Lost Something on the Doha Metro ?

If you realise you’ve left something on a metro train or at a station, report it to a Qatar Rail staff member or station agent as soon as possible. Each station has staff on duty during operating hours. Acting quickly gives the best chance of the item being found before the train completes its run.

If you’ve already left the station, contact Qatar Rail’s customer service team. The lost property service operates extended hours throughout the week, including Thursdays until midnight and during the busy Friday evening period.
