About Air North

Air North (4N) is a Yukon-based Canadian regional carrier that has operated since 1977, making it one of the longest-established airlines in the Canadian North. Headquartered in Whitehorse, Yukon, Air North serves communities across the Yukon Territory and northern BC, as well as connections to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Kelowna. The airline is majority-owned by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, making it one of the few Indigenous-owned airlines in Canada. Air North operates a fleet of Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft.

Air North is a vital link for Yukon communities, carrying residents, workers, tourists, and goods across the territory. With growing interest in Yukon as a destination for northern lights viewing, wilderness adventure, and Indigenous cultural tourism, the airline also attracts significant visitor traffic. Items including cameras, outdoor gear accessories, and personal belongings are occasionally left on board, particularly on flights from Whitehorse after outdoor expeditions.

Items Lost on Board an Air North Flight vs. at the Airport

Items left on the Air North aircraft should be reported to the airline. Items lost at Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport or at other airports in Air North’s network should be directed to those airports’ own facilities. In smaller Yukon communities, Air North staff often manage the airport directly and are the right first contact.
