About Jet2

Jet2 (LS) is a British leisure airline and holiday company headquartered in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and one of the UK’s most popular carriers for package holidays. Founded in 2002, Jet2 operates a large fleet of Boeing 737 and 757 aircraft from bases across the UK including Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London Stansted. The airline flies primarily to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Greek Islands, Turkish Coast, and further afield to Florida and Dubai.

Jet2 carries several million passengers each year and is known for its friendly in-flight service and its combination of flights with Jet2holidays packages. Given the nature of leisure travel, passengers often carry cameras, sunglasses, books, travel pillows, and personal items that can easily be left behind in the cabin. Items are sometimes left in seat pockets after long-haul or early morning flights when passengers are tired or distracted.

What to Do If You’ve Lost Something with Jet2

Contact Jet2’s baggage services team as soon as you notice the item is missing. Provide your flight number, travel date, seat number, and a detailed description of the item. Jet2’s team in Leeds handles lost property reports and can coordinate with the handling agents at the departure or arrival airport.

You can also submit a report through our platform, so that our team can contact and follow up with the lost property office(s) on your behalf.

Items Lost on Board vs. at the Airport

Items left on the Jet2 aircraft should be reported to Jet2 directly. Items lost in the terminal at Leeds Bradford, Manchester, or any other UK or overseas departure airport should be reported to that airport’s lost property office. If you are unsure whether the item was left on the plane or in the terminal, contact both.

Tips to Efficiently Report a Lost Item

  • Report as soon as you return to the UK, or from the airport if you notice the loss immediately
  • Your Jet2 booking reference and seat number will help the team trace the flight and cabin
  • Describe the item in detail, including colour, brand, and any distinguishing features such as a monogram or case cover
  • For items lost at an overseas airport, also contact the local airport lost property team
  • Jet2’s social media channels can sometimes provide faster initial guidance if phone lines are busy
