About Azul

Azul Brazilian Airlines (AD) is one of Brazil’s three largest carriers, founded in 2008 by David Neeleman, the Brazilian-American entrepreneur who also co-founded JetBlue. Headquartered at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, Azul has built one of the most extensive domestic networks in Brazil, serving over 150 destinations including many smaller cities and regional airports that are underserved by other airlines. The airline operates a diverse fleet including Embraer E-Jets, ATR turboprops, and Airbus A320-family aircraft.

Azul’s wide reach across Brazil’s vast interior and its focus on secondary markets means that many passengers use the airline for routes where there are few alternatives. With high flight frequencies and a large daily passenger volume, items such as phones, chargers, headphones, and small bags are regularly left on board. Azul’s customer service team is available around the clock to assist with lost property reports.

What to Do If You’ve Lost Something with Azul

Contact Azul Baggage Services as soon as possible after noticing the loss. Have your flight number, booking code, date, and seat number ready. Items found on board are transferred to the baggage services team at the destination airport before being held at a central facility if unclaimed.

You can also submit a report through our platform, so that our team can contact and follow up with the lost property office(s) on your behalf.

Items Lost on Board vs. at the Airport

Items left inside the Azul aircraft cabin should be reported to Azul’s customer service. Items lost in the terminal at Viracopos or at any other Brazilian airport should be directed to that airport’s own lost property service. For losses at smaller regional airports, Azul’s local handling staff are often the best first point of contact.

Tips to Efficiently Report a Lost Item

  • Report as soon as possible, particularly on short domestic routes where turnaround times are tight
  • Note your seat number, row, and any overhead bin you used when filing the report
  • Describe the item clearly, including brand, colour, model, and any personalisation
  • For items lost at smaller Azul-served airports, contact Azul’s ground team directly at that airport
  • Keep your booking confirmation as reference when following up on your report

Can You Recover Your Item After Your Flight ?

Azul’s 24-hour customer service line means you can file a report at any time. Given the airline’s extensive network and many small-airport operations, it is worth being specific about the departure and arrival points when describing where the loss occurred. Early reporting significantly improves the chance of a successful recovery.
