How to Report a Lost Item on a MÁV Train
To report a lost item, contact the MÁV Lost and Found Office with the following :
Train number and route
Date and time of travel
Seat number or coach if known
Description of your item
If you lost your item in a station area (like the waiting hall or platform), be sure to mention the station name as well.
If possible, identify the specific train you were on, the compartment or seat number, and your destination. If you have a ticket, keep it on hand to help authorities trace your itinerary.

Good to Know :
MÁV holds items for 90 days. For international travelers, the office can arrange shipping for a fee once the item is verified as yours. Keep your train ticket as proof of travel when making your claim.
