Have you lost something at Detroit Metro Airport ? Find out how to report a lost item at Michigan’s main international airport.

About Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is the primary commercial airport serving the Detroit metropolitan area, the Greater Lake Erie region, and parts of southern Ontario. Located in Romulus, Michigan, approximately 32 kilometers southwest of downtown Detroit, the airport handles over 35 million passengers annually and serves as a major hub for Delta Air Lines. Delta operates the largest share of flights at DTW by a significant margin, with American, Southwest, Spirit, and a range of international carriers also serving the airport.
DTW features two main terminal complexes: the Edward H. McNamara Terminal (the main Delta hub) and the North Terminal, connected by a timed shuttle bus and also accessible by car. The McNamara Terminal is one of the most modern airport terminals in the United States, known for its impressive light-filled concourse. DTW serves a large catchment area that extends into Ohio, Indiana, and Ontario, Canada, with many passengers driving to DTW for better connections or lower fares than those available at smaller regional airports. The airport handles a mix of business, leisure, and connecting traffic.
What Should You Do If You’ve Lost Something at Detroit Metro Airport ?
If you notice the loss while still in the terminal, go to the nearest information desk or speak to airport staff immediately. Note which terminal you were in the McNamara Terminal or the North Terminal as lost property is handled centrally but location details are important for the search.
DTW’s lost property service operates daily, seven days a week, in morning and early afternoon hours. Weekend losses can be reported and followed up the same day.
