Have you lost something at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport ? Find out how to report a lost item at Bucharest’s main international airport.

About Henri Coanda International Airport
Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), also commonly known as Bucharest Otopeni Airport, is the main international airport serving Romania’s capital city. Located in Otopeni, approximately 17 kilometers north of central Bucharest, the airport is named after Romanian aviation pioneer Henri Coanda. OTP handles over 15 million passengers annually and serves as the hub for TAROM, Romania’s national airline, alongside frequent services from Ryanair, Wizz Air, Blue Air, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, and many other European and intercontinental carriers.
Bucharest is the largest city in Romania and one of Eastern Europe’s major capitals, attracting significant business travel alongside growing leisure tourism. Romania has seen increased tourist interest in recent years, with visitors drawn to the Carpathian Mountains, Transylvania’s medieval towns, the Danube Delta, and Bucharest’s architecture and nightlife. The airport features two terminals: Terminal 1 for Schengen flights and Terminal 2 for non-Schengen and intercontinental traffic.
What Should You Do If You’ve Lost Something at Bucharest Airport ?
If you notice the loss while still in the terminal, speak to airport staff or the information desk immediately. Given the two-terminal layout, it is important to note which terminal you were in when the item was last seen.
OTP’s lost property office operates weekday morning and afternoon hours. Items lost over the weekend or outside these hours should be reported via our platform and followed up by phone on the next working day.
How to Report a Lost Item at Henri Coanda Airport
Contact the airport lost property service during opening hours. Provide the date and time, the specific terminal and area, your flight details, and a full description of the item. You can also submit a report through our platform, so our team can transfer your report to the appropriate offices for you.
Items Lost on an Aircraft
For items left on board a TAROM, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, or other flight, contact the airline directly. Airlines manage on-board found property through their own services, separately from the airport’s office.
Common areas at OTP where passengers lose items include the security lanes in both terminals, check-in areas, departure lounges, duty-free and retail zones, gate areas, and the baggage claim halls.
