About Kilimanjaro International Airport

Kilimanjaro International Airport (IATA : JRO) sits on the open plateau between Arusha and Moshi in northern Tanzania, roughly 50 kilometres from each town.

For most travellers it is the front door to the northern safari circuit, taking in the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, and the starting point for climbers heading up Mount Kilimanjaro itself.

It is a compact, single-terminal airport run by the Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company, with ground handling by Swissport.
