About Lion Air
Lion Air (JT) is Indonesia’s largest low-cost carrier by passenger volume and one of the biggest airlines in Southeast Asia. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Jakarta, Lion Air operates an extensive domestic network across Indonesia’s many islands alongside international routes to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and other regional destinations. The airline is part of the Lion Group, which also includes Batik Air and Wings Air, and operates a large fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft from its main base at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
With high frequencies on popular Indonesian domestic routes and a large fleet, Lion Air serves tens of millions of passengers every year. Personal items including phones, chargers, travel pillows, and documents are regularly left in the cabin. The airline’s baggage services team handles lost property reports from passengers across its network.
What to Do If You’ve Lost Something with Lion Air
Contact Lion Air Baggage Services as soon as you notice the loss. Provide your booking code, flight number, travel date, and seat number, along with a detailed description of the item. If you are still at the airport, go directly to the Lion Air counter, as ground staff may still be able to access the aircraft.
You can also submit a report through our platform, so that our team can contact and follow up with the lost property office(s) on your behalf.
Items Lost on Board vs. at the Airport
Items left on board a Lion Air aircraft are handled by the airline’s baggage team. Items lost in the terminal at Soekarno-Hatta or any other Indonesian airport should be reported to that airport’s lost property office. Soekarno-Hatta’s own facilities at Terminal 1, 2, or 3 each have their own information desks that can assist with terminal losses.
Tips to Efficiently Report a Lost Item
- Go directly to the Lion Air check-in counter or arrival desk if you are still inside the airport
- Keep your boarding pass as your seat number and flight details will be required
- Describe the item in as much detail as possible, including brand, colour, model, and contents if it was a bag
- For travel documents such as passports or visas, also report to the immigration or police desk at the airport
- Follow up within 48 hours if you have not received a response, as items may be moved to central storage
